Learn how to make DIY baseball can koozies using Cricut or sublimation! Perfect for game days, team gifts, or coach thank-yous. We created ours for our Father’s Day Tournament in Helena!
Looking for a fun, easy baseball-themed craft? These DIY baseball can koozies are perfect for game day, team parties, or end-of-season gifts—and you can make them with your Cricut or sublimation printer!
🧵 What You’ll Need:
- Blank neoprene koozies (white or light color) – Sublimation will only work on light colored blanks.
- Sublimation printer or Cricut machine – I use my Epson printer that I converted to a sublimation printer.
- Heat press or EasyPress – I have found that both will work. But I love my heat press to do this.
- Baseball-themed SVG or PNG files – I have some for purchase in my Etsy shop! But you can use any that you have or find in Design Space, or you can create your own.
- Heat-resistant tape & butcher paper (for sublimation) – Parchment Paper also works great! I purchase mine from Amazon or Costco!
🎨 Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Design your artwork – Customize your player’s number, team name, etc.
- I measured mine to be 3.5 by 3.5
- Cut or print – Use Cricut for vinyl or a sublimation printer for full-color prints.
- Upload your artwork into MS Word and you can add several to a page.
- Don’t forget to reverse the page when printing.
- Always use the Best setting when printing. Otherwise, your colors will not be as crisp!
- Press it – Use a heat press with correct time/temp settings.
- Before you press, make sure that you are using heat-safe tape and tape your design down. I have linked the exact tape that I use. No tape is the same!
- I created mine using a heat temp of 390 degrees and set my timer to 67 seconds.
- Make sure that you have parchment paper under your design and on top of your design.
- Only do one side at a time.
- Don’t forget to change out your parchment paper. I did six at a time when I pressed.
- You will see that there are press marks; these will disappear when you put the can in here.
- Before you press, make sure that you are using heat-safe tape and tape your design down. I have linked the exact tape that I use. No tape is the same!
- Cool & peel – Let cool and admire your work! Even with sublimation, I let mine cool for a minute before I peel the paper off.
💡 Tips & Tricks:
- Always lint-roll the koozie first
- Use medium pressure to avoid blurring
- Don’t forget to mirror your image for sublimation!
